Welcome to the
 Roanoke Valley Virtual Visitor Center!

Nestled in the heartland of the Blue Ridge Mountains is the town of Roanoke, a beautiful all American city. Its surreal mountain backdrops and dreamy sunsets makes this cozy city a real treat. Aside from cutting edge medical and hospital care, Roanoke offers an extensive list of outstanding amenities that are second to none.

From a great economy, a classic downtown home feel and historic neighborhoods, Roanoke is a hub for some of the biggest names in show business along with some of the finest hotels found anywhere. Not to mention the Roanoke symphony orchestra and theater of the arts and entertainment are tops!

Roanoke is an independent city and the largest city next to the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia, and is adjacent to city of Salem and Vinton. Roanoke grew rapidly from its origins as Big Lick when, in 1882 the railroad became the town's major industry. Roanoke offers fine motels, bed-and-breakfast, inns, golf courses and a downtown farmers' market surrounded by restaurants and museums!
